Back to the real world!

We got back from our camping trip yesterday and as much fun as we had, it sure is great to be back home :) It was inevitable that it was going to rain while we were camping (after all, it is Labor Day Weekend in WA lol!) but we were completely taken by surprise by the absolute downpour that lasted off and on for two out of the three days! Luckily we were with a group of people and they gave us some pointers on how to keep everything dry in our tent. We had lots of extra tarps strapped to our tent and staked into the ground and after that first night we were just fine. (Oh and did I mention the HUGE wind gusts we got as well? We went camping with a large group and had a blast. Can't wait to do it again next year!

Things I learned-
*Campground bathrooms are THE best idea. Ever. With 3 little girls, I'm pretty sure that's where we spent most of our time.
*Next year we borrow a 5th wheel. We found out soon why no one else was camping in a tent lol!
*Bring more play clothes than you think you will need. Because in the end, you will need them.
*DON'T FORGET THE PILLOWS. Matt forgot them and after a very uncomfortable night with hardly any sleep, we went back home the following day to get them (and a few other things we forgot). Hey, a girl has her limits! Don't worry we were only about 35 min. from our house :)
*Being 'unplugged' from the world once in a blue moon is perfectly fine and no, everything will not go to pieces in just a few days ;)
*Boats are the best place to fish and I can't wait to do it again soon!

The view from our tent
Down the trail from our tent (literally) this tree was at the edge of the beach. Isn't that awesome???
Our three girls with their new friends from our camping group. Kylie even met a girl that was going to be in her class! There were 7 girls ages 3-6 and you could imagine the fun they had together :)
Watching the sun set from the boat
Isn't that gorgeous?
So even though it rained quite a bit while we were there, we had a blast and can't wait to do it again next year. Hopefully it will be nice whether so we can actually swim in the gorgeous lake :)

The pictures of the sunset are beautiful. Glad you had fun despite the rain. You have to start out in a tent...you'll appreciate the pop-up or self-contained one much more! I've been there. LOL
